Operational readiness & transition (ORAT) for ANSPs

Transitions may vary in nature depending on their type, their organisational maturity and the degree of change involved, Furthermore, an organisation may undergo any or all of the following types of transitions: Systemic, Procedural, Operational or Organisational.

Concept of Operations (CONOPS) development

INGENAV has a fully developed capacity and the necessary expertise to develop Concept of Operations on behalf of Air Navigation Services Providers. Concept of Operations include detailed descriptions of how operations should be organised to deliver one or more operational objectives within a particular configuration.

Changes in configuration may include a change in the volume of work and as a result the reorganisation of this, involving amongst others, the introduction of new working structures, new or upgraded procedures or new technology.

When developing CONOPS, Ingenav studies the current and targeted configuration as well as the opportunities and constraints that need to be taken into account. We then develop the concept describing it in detail.

Airspace development

Having the right kind of airspace is essential both for operational safety, business safety and also for efficiency.

Air Traffic Services Operational Procedures

ATS Operational Procedures are standardised, legally binding, and safety-focused protocols, based on ICAO standards and used by air traffic controllers to manage air traffic safely and efficiently.

The services INGENAV provides in this area include:

  • Auditing of current operational procedures against expected goals
  • Drafting of new Air Traffic Services Operational Procedures to meet and update CONOPs
  • Support in revised procedures’ approval process, including:
    • The Safety Assessment
    • The approval process with the client’s regulator
    • The publication of these procedures

Also related to this area, INGENAV offers support for the elaboration of letters of agreements and the drafting of airport operational procedures.

Runway and ATC Sector Capacity Studies

Sector and runway capacity both need to be periodically studied and measured in order to properly manage them. Failing to do so can lead to missing potential imbalances between capacity and demand, as well as missing the opportunity to proactively find ways of increasing efficiency

Knowing the environmental impact of air operations is crucial, particularly when addressing operational changes, and INGENAV offers a service for modelling and comparing current, future and hypothetical scenarios.
